CM-CIC, SGCP exit Alstef
CM-CIC Investissement and Societe Generale Capital Partenaires have sold their minority stakes in automated handling systems manufacturer Alstef, following its merger with BA Robotic Systems Group, which is backed by Future French Champions (FFC).
CM-CIC and Societe Generale backed Alstef in 2011, acquiring a 15% and 5% stake respectively. At the time, CEO Pierre Marol retained a 45% stake, the management team 17% and employees of the company the remainder.
Alstef has been acquired by FFC in the context of the merger between Alstef and BA Robotic Systems, a French provider of automated guided vehicles (AGV) service. The merger has seen the creation of a new company, B2A Technology, in which FCC bought a 32% stake. Senior debt for the transaction was provided by Societe Generale, Crédit Agricole and BNP Paribas.
FFC is a partnership between CDC International Capital and Qatar Investment Authority established in 2014, dedicated to direct investments alongside other sovereign funds and international institutional investors.
Prior to the merger with Alstef, BA Robotic Systems was backed by family office Kreizig Invest, which also sold its stake in the business.
