PAI's Stella Group buys CRH S&A
PAI Partners' Stella Group, a door and gate manufacturer, has acquired CRH's shutters and awnings division (CRH S&A).
Stella is a specialist in roller shutters, metallic grills and curtains for store protection. With the acquisition, Stella is expecting to double its revenues and reinforce its international presence, as 45% of revenues would be stemming from outside France. The bolt-on will also help the new group to enter adjacent markets in outdoor living.
PAI entered exclusive talks to buy door and gate manufacturer Stella from Intermediate Capital Group (ICG) in Q4 2018. At the time, Stella generated a €55m EBITDA and was valued at more than €600m, Unquote reported.
The GP's PAI Europe VII fund, closed on €5bn in 2018, was used for the acquisition of Stella.
The CRH group, headquartered in Dublin, generated €26.8bn in revenues in 2018, according to its website.
Company
CRH S&A, a European producer of shutters, awnings and garage doors, generated sales in excess of €200m in 2018. Its brands include Alulux, AVZ, Erhardt Markisen and SWS, and it operates in the German, Dutch and UK markets, among others.
