RGreen Invest, Mirova et al. in €80m round for HysetCo
HysetCo, a French operator of hydrogen-fuelled taxis, has raised €80m in equity and debt from investors RGreen Invest, Mirova, Raise Impact, and Eiffel Investment Group.
The latest funding round brings the company's total amount raised so far to more than €100m. Listed French company Air Liquide, which is also one of the co-founders of HysetCo, reinvested in the business.
The proceeds are being used to fund the company’s acquisition of French taxi operator Slota. HysetCo plans to replace Slota's fleet of more than 600 diesel taxis with hydrogen-run Toyota Mirais by the end of 2021.
The funding will also be used to commission new refueling stations in 2021, with a view to having 20 of them by 2024.
Company
Founded in 2015 and based in Paris, HysetCo started out as a joint venture between companies Air Liquide, Idex, Société du Taxi Électrique Parisien (STEP), and Toyota to create hydrogen-fuelled transport in Paris. It operates more than 100 taxis under the Hype brand in Paris and now owns Parisian taxi operator Slota, which owns a fleet of more than 600 taxis.
