Alven, Orange Digital in €7m round for Wynd
Alven Capital has led a €7m funding round for French software-as-a-service business Wynd, with participation from Orange Digital Ventures.
The company had raised €1.8m in its first funding round in 2014. This previous round attracted business angels and state-backed BPI France.
Wynd is looking to use the fresh capital to bolster its workforce and step up the deployment of its technology with new clients.
Orange Digital is a corporate venturing initiative launched by telecoms business Orange. The unit has an investment capacity of €20m for the time being and looks to secure minority stakes in French startups.
Alven is currently investing from its fourth fund; Alven Capital IV hit its €120m hard-cap when the nine-month fundraising process concluded in March 2013. More than half the vehicle's capital had been deployed as of mid-September, according to unquote" data.
