
Midi Capital injects €1.5m into Medtech
Midi Capital has invested €1.5m in French medical robots designer Medtech as part of a €4m funding round for the firm.
The other investors remain unnamed for the time being. The company had already received funding from Newfund Management in April 2010.
Medtech will use the fresh equity to pursue its commercial development and enter new markets, notably spinal surgery. The company expects to post a €3m turnover in 2013, up from €1.9m last year – this latter figure was already a fourfold increase on 2011 revenues.

Medtech was founded in 2002 in Castelnau Le Lez, near Montpellier, and produces robotic surgical assistance solutions. The firm's products are designed to improve the reliability of surgical procedures while facilitating the implementation of less invasive surgical techniques.
