
BonitaSoft raises $13m in series-C round
CDC Entreprises, investing via the state-backed FSN PME vehicle, has led a $13m series-C funding round for French software firm BonitaSoft.
Existing backers Ventech, Auriga Partners and Serena Capital also participated in the funding round.
The fresh capital will drive the company's expansion into the US, Europe and Latin America. The company will also look to develop the next generation of business process management technology.
The FSN PME fund was established by the French government in 2009 to back companies in growing technologies such as cloud computing, online health initiatives and the digital sector. The fund is managed by CDC Entreprises. Recent investments include participation in a €7.1m round for Recommerce Solutions and in a €7m round for Compario.
Previous funding
In 2009, BonitaSoft received a €2m equity injection from Ventech and Auriga Partners. In 2011, Serena joined the firm's existing backers in an $11m series-B round for the firm.

Founded in 2009 and based in Grenoble, BonitaSoft is an open-source provider of business process management and workflow software solutions.
The firm's sales grew by more than 130% in 2012, driven by a 390% revenue increase in US sales. The company now counts 600 companies and governments worldwide among its client base including Accenture, Michelin and Old Dominion University. BonitaSoft reports more than 2 million downloads of its open source software solution.
The company will hire a further 60 employees at its offices in San Francisco, Grenoble and Paris.
