D-Bi raises €3.5m from Jaina Capital et al.
Iris Capital, A Plus Finance and Siparex have joined existing investor Jaina Capital for a €3.5m second round for French advertising software developer D-Bi.
The round was led by Iris Capital, A Plus Finance and Siparex's SME-focused investment arm Proximité Innovation. Jaina was already a shareholder in D-Bi, having backed the first institutional round for the business.
Siparex Proximité Innovation typically deploys €300,000-3m per deal, while Iris targets tickets from €1m upwards.
The fresh funds will assist D-Bi as it expands internationally. The business has plans to set up offices in the UK and Germany, where its digital performance measurement software Holimetrix has already attracted new customers.
Additional capital will be dedicated to research and development, with a focus on predictive capability technologies. The strategy will be supported via the hire of 20 new professionals from the data gathering and data science sectors, among others.
This is Jaina's second foray into the French advertising sector in the past few months. In May, the VC injected €3m into online advertising video service Mediabong alongside Entrepreneur Venture, which led the round, and fellow existing shareholders Conegliano Venture and Network Finances.
Iris has also been active in recent weeks. In March, the VC joined forces with Capnamic Ventures for a €2.8m series-A round for German data management firm Adex. The deal, along with a €4m round for smart-bike system Cobi in April, was part of a partnership agreement that both firms sealed in 2013 for early-stage investments in Germany.
