
Inventure et al. invest in Web of Trust
Sino-Finnish venture capital group Inventure has invested €1m in surfing tool Web of Trust (WOT), alongside private investor Risto Siilasmaa and the Finnish Industry Investment.
The funding will be used for product development in order to keep pace with the company's global growth.

WOT is a community-powered browser add-on that helps web users find reliable websites. It uses a traffic-light rating system to help web users stay safe online.
Website ratings are crowd-sourced from a worldwide community of WOT users. Community ratings are augmented with information from selected technical data services.

Timo Tirkkonen is a partner at Inventure. Sami Tolvanen and Timo Ala-Kleemola are co-founders of WOT, and Markus Suomi is CEO of the company.
