Nokes acquires 35.3% stake in Principia
Humphrey Julian Nokes, the founder of venture debt provider ETV Capital, has acquired a 35.3% stake in Italian venture firm Principia from Maz&Cos Venture.
Law firm Watson Farley & Williams advised Nokes on the deal, while King & Wood Mallesons advised Principia.
Principia is currently in the process of raising funds for its third vehicle, Principia III Venture Capital Fund, which has a target of €400–500m and held its first close on €160m in December 2014.
The firm is also among the backers of e-commerce operator and digital publisher Banzai, which provided the Italian stock exchange with its first IPO of 2015 when it listed in February.
