Wise's OpenjobMetis to float on Italian stock exchange
Wise portfolio company OpenjobMetis has announced its intention to float on the Star segment of the Italian stock exchange.
The firm originally invested in the Italian recruitment business (at the time known as Openjob) in July 2003. Four years later, Wise acquired a majority stake in the Gallarate-based company with capital drawn from Wise Equity II, which reached a final close in May 2006 on €170m.
Under the GP's tenure, the company has undertaken a series of bolt-on acquisitions, including Pianeta Lavoro, In Time, QuandoccoRre and Job.
In March 2011, Openjob acquired Metis, leading to the creation of OpenjobMetis. Following the deal, Wise held a 67% stake in the newly merged business, with Metis's majority shareholders, the Vittorelli family, retaining a 25% stake.
The flotation would mark the first divestment for Wise since May 2011, when the firm reaped a 5x multiple from the €30-35m sale of Eurodifarm to DHL Supply Chain, the contract logistics arm of Deutsche Post DHL.
