Caixa, Kereon lead €2.5m round for Transplant Biomedicals
A syndicate of Spanish venture capital investors, including Caixa Capital Risc and Kereon Partners, has led a €2.5m funding round for organ transportation specialist Transplant Biomedicals.
Caixa is understood to have tapped its 2015-vintage seed-focused Caixa Capital Micro II vehicle for the investment. The current round brings the total funding raised by the Spanish business to €4m.
The company said it will use the capital injection to boost the clinical phase for its core product, a device used for the transportation for hospital use of thoracic and abdominal organs for transplants.
Previous funding
In November 2015, Kereon led a €1.5m round for the business alongside Caixa and several individual investors.
