GoodWater Capital leads $30m series-B for Badi
Silicon Valley-based VC house GoodWater Capital has led a $30m series-B funding round for Spanish startup Badi, which offers a marketplace for urban room rentals.
Target Global and previous backers Spark Capital and Mangrove Capital Partners also took part in the round, which brought the total funding raised by the company close to $45m.
Badi CEO told Unquote that the company will use the fresh capital to scale up its team and double its staff, expand its presence in new cities across Europe and launch a new booking system.
Previous funding
Mangrove Capital Partners invested €350,000 in Badi in January 2016, and followed up with an additional injection of €1m in June 2016.
Subsequently, Reus Capital Partners, alongside Mangrove, backed the company with a €3m investment in July 2017.
More recently, Spark Capital led a $10m series-A funding round for Badi in February 2018, with the participation of Mangrove and other private investors.
Company
Founded in 2015 and based in Barcelona, Badi offers a room rental marketplace for young people. The company's online platform gives potential flatmates the opportunity to match and connect before sharing a flat. It employs 65 staff and has reached 1 million users last year.
