
Ambienta-backed Aromata buys IPAM
Ambienta-backed flavouring producer Aromata has acquired Italian breadcrumbs and food ingredients maker Industrie Prodotti Alimentari Manenti (IPAM) from the company's founding Manenti family.
Ambienta acquired Aromata in November 2018 in a deal that valued the business at around €60m. The GP deployed capital from its Ambienta III fund, which held a first and final close on €635m in May 2018, hitting its hard-cap and exceeding its original €500m target.
Aromata specialises in the production of natural flavours and colours for the food, beverage, pharmaceutical, nutraceutical and cosmetic industries. It employs 120 staff, has 1,200 clients across 50 countries worldwide and generated EBITDA of €5m in 2018 from revenues of €30m.

Established in 1981 and headquartered in Polesine Zibello, near Parma, IPAM specialises in the production of breadcrumbs, batter, flour, cooking powders for sauces and gluten-free food ingredients. The company generates revenues of around €20m.
