Apax-backed Idealista acquires Yaencontre
Idealista, a portfolio company of Apax Partners, has acquired a stake in Yaencontre, a Catalonia-based online real estate marketplace.
The parties agreed not to disclose the terms of the transaction.
Idealista and Yaencontre will continue their commercial strategy independently and there will be no team integration.
Apax Partners acquired a stake in Idealista from Bonsai Venture Capital, Kutxabank and US firm Tiger Global in July 2015. Financial details remained undisclosed, though Spanish publication El Confidencial stated that the deal amounted to more than €150m. The company's founders, Jesús Encinar, Fernando Encinar and Cesar Oteiza, retained a significant stake in the business.
Idealista is a Madrid-based online property marketplace, with a presence in Spain, Italy and Portugal. It reported 2018 sales of €64m and has 393 employees.
