Vertis leads €1.25m round for De Revolutione
Italian investor Vertis has led a €1.25m funding round for Naples-based social platform De Revolutione.
A network of business angels provided co-investment.
Vertis invested through the €25m Vertis Venture fund, which provides start-up, early-stage and development capital of €500,000–2.5m to companies based in southern Italy.
Vertis was attracted to the investment due to the wide skill base of the De Revolutione team, who will use the capital to launch the platform in autumn this year. The company has been fundraising for eight months.
Company
De Revolutione was founded in 2011 and is based in Naples. The firm provides a social platform for users wishing to mobilise support for an idea such as environmental protection, participative democracy, entrepreneurial projects, electoral campaigns, protests or charity projects. Users are encouraged to present an idea or a problem they wish to share or solve on the platform, which enables collaboration through petitions and crowd funding.
People
Amedeo Giurazza is managing director of Vertis and worked on the deal. Roberto Esposito is the founder and CEO of De Revolutione.
