Alpha's Savio bolts on Mesdan
Savio Macchine Tessili, a textile machinery producer owned by Alpha, has acquired a controlling stake in yarn splicing devices firm Mesdan.
Savio Macchine Tessili's acquisition of Mesdan is valued in excess of €20m, and was funded with the support of Alpha.
Mesdan will retain its autonomy following the acquisition.
Alpha bought Savio from Itema Holding in 2011, a deal thought to be worth around €300m. The GP provided between €130-140m of equity for the deal. A debt structure was provided by a syndicate of banks led by Intesa Sanpaolo.
