
Fondo Italiano backs Rigoni di Asiago
Fondo Italiano di Investimento has completed its 16th transaction to date with a €14m investment in organic fruit confectionery and spreadable goods producer Rigoni di Asiago.
Fondo Italiano acquired a minority stake in the company through a capital injection and a convertible loan. The investment will underpin the company's plans for international expansion of its product range as well as acquisitive growth.

Company
Rigoni di Asiago was founded in the 1920s and initially focused on the production and commercialisation of honey. The company now offers a range of confectionery and spreadable goods produced from organic fruit grown in Italy. Based in Asiago, Rigoni employs around 100 staff and expects to report an annual turnover of €63m for 2011.
