Private Equity investors court clothing retailer Phase Eight
Lloyds Development Capital, Inflexion and Change Capital have held discussions to acquire UK clothing retailer Phase Eight, according to media reports.
Kaupthing Capital Partners had led a consortium of investors in a £51.5m secondary buyout of the company from Barclays Private Equity (BPE) in 2007 - acquiring a 49% stake. However, the stake is understood to be under the administration of accountants Smith & Williamson after being appointed as Kaupthing's administrator in 2008.
BPE acquired Phase Eight in a £27m management buyout in 2005.
