Intel Capital invests in Nymgo
Intel Capital has backed UK- and Lebanon-based Internet VOIP company Nymgo with growth capital funding.
Funds were drawn from the $50m Intel Capital Middle East and Turkey Fund. The venture firm is particularly interested in the evolving technology landscape in the Middle-East, and believes Nymgo's technology addresses the need for cheap and simple communication in the region.
With the fresh funds, Nymgo will aim to accelerate infrastructure deployment, operations enhancement and global marketing.
Founded in 2008, Nymgo is a provider of voice-over-IP (VOIP) services. Its software has been downloaded 2 million times since its inception, with cutomers from around the world talking for more than 300 million minutes in total. Nymgo aims to offer both high-quality audio and the lowest possible rates on the market.
