Foresight invests in Vertal and Closed Loop
Foresight Group has injected further funding into London recycling specialists Vertal and Closed Loop Recycling.
The cleantech venture specialist previously provided Closed Loop Recycling with £12m in 2007, and Vertal with £5m in 2009. Total funding from Foresight in the two companies now exceeds £25m, which would value this latest round at over £8m.
Both companies completed commissioning of their first plants in 2009 and have seen a jump in revenues in 2010, according to Foresight. The funding will be used to open further sites in London and around the UK.
Founded in 2006, Mitcham-based Vertal is specialised in food waste treatment. Closed Loop Recycling is based in Dagenham and focuses on plastic recycling.
