Sigma Offshore, a UK producer of mooring and fluid transfer systems, has succeeded in raising £4m of venture capital.
Its investors include American oilfield products and services company National Oilwell Varco, investment agency Scottish Venture Fund and Norwegian venture capital firm Energy Ventures.
The funds will enable Sigma to continue with the development and marketing of its Smart Mooring System. The system, according to Sigma, will be cost efficient and save its clients up to 30%.
The main markets covered by the company include the Gulf of Mexico, South America, West and North Africa as well as Australia and South East Asia. Sigma has also expanded its operations into the US and Norway.
