LDC increases stake in Ascend
LDC has purchased an additional stake in portfolio company Ascend, a provider of aviation information and consultancy services.
The deal doubles LDC's total investment in the company to £12m. The new funding will support the roll out of dedicated workflow and decision support services to existing clients and the launching of a financial ratings product.
LDC acquired its initial stake in Ascend in 2005, when it backed a £10m management buyout of Airclaims - an aviation claims, risk and asset management services company- which was rebranded Ascend in 2006.
