BGF inject £8.3m into Metropolitan European Transport
Business Growth Fund (BGF) has invested £8.3m in local bus operator Metropolitan European Transport (MET).
The investor stated that MET would use the funds to bolt on regional bus operators and support tendering activity (as more local authorities place transport services to public tender).
Company
Established in 2011, MET provides local and regional bus services in Germany, which BGF claims is Europe's largest and most fragmented local bus market. The company operates from two regional hubs in Frankfurt and Cologne. It provides local bus services, special needs transport and school transport for local authorities, government entities and corporates.
Although the business operates in Germany, the company is headquartered in London and the management team is UK-based. According to the most recently available public information, MET posted a £1.48m profit in 2016.
