
BGF injects £2m into visual effects studio Milk
Business Growth Fund (BGF) has poured £2m into London-based visual effects business Milk VFX.
The company will use the funding to expand its studios, invest in new technical equipment and attract more talent. It aims to increase its capacity to allow it to work with high-end television and digital content producers such as Warner Bros, the BBC and Netflix.
Ivan Dunleavy, the former CEO of film studio Pinewood Group, will join the company as non-executive chairman.

Founded in 2013, the firm employs 150 staff across its sites in London and Cardiff. It won Baftas for its work on Doctor Who, Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell and Sherlock, while co-founder Sara Bennett won an Oscar in the best VFX category for her work on the film Ex Machina.
The company also worked on Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them and The Martian. The firm's revenues came to £10.3m in 2016-17 financial year. The investment from BGF marks its first fundraising.
