
Riverside-backed DPA Microphones buys Sound Network
The Riverside Company's portfolio company DPA Microphones has acquired UK-based audio distributor Sound Network.
Sound Network had a relationship with DPA as the firm's UK distributor prior to the transaction.
DPA said it plans few changes to Sound Network, but added that customers should benefit from the closer cooperation.
Riverside acquired a majority stake in DPA in December 2013, with management retaining a 40% shareholding. At the time of the acquisition, DPA had sales offices in Denmark, the US and Hong Kong, as well as an international network of licensed distributors.

Sound Network is a London-based professional audio distributor. It has relationships with a wide network of professional users including theatres in the West End of London. It was founded in 1994 and employed eight people in 2016, according to publicly available documents. The brands it stocks include Sony Meris and DPA.
