
Mercia leads £5m round for web traffic manager Intechnica
Mercia Technologies has led a £5m funding round for Manchester-based Intechnica.
Mercia injected £3.5m into the firm and raised its shareholding to 24.3%, with existing private investors providing the remaining £1.5m.
The round includes a £1.3m convertible loan facility, which is also being provided by Mercia. This facility is subject to the achievement of future performance milestones.
Intechnica will use the capital to scale its TrafficDefender product suite, which manages both human and bot traffic. It will also be used to boost its sales and marketing teams, with a view to overseas expansion.
Previous funding
Mercia, the Greater Manchester Investment Fund and three business angels invested £900,000 in June 2017.
In 2015, the North West Fund for Venture Capital, managed by Enterprise Ventures, invested £400,000 in the business.
