
BGF invests further £6.5m in Kids Planet
BGF has provided UK-based nursery school operator Kids Planet with £6.5m in follow-on funding.
The fresh capital will enable the company to open new sites, with a particular focus on expanding its footprint beyond the north-west of England.
Kids Planet currently operates a portfolio of 38 sites across the north of England and the Midlands, up from 17 at the time of BGF's initial investment. The group has launched new locations and made bolt-on acquisitions as part of its growth strategy.
Previous funding
BGF invested £10m in Kids Planet in 2016, with the capital earmarked for the opening of five new nurseries across the UK. The firm then provided a further £6.5m of funding in April 2018.
Company
Established in 2008 and headquartered in Lymm, Kids Planet is a nursery school operator. According to publicly available documents, the company generated turnover of £15.6m in the year ending in March 2018, with EBITDA of £3.4m. It has since increased its sales to £21m, according to a statement issued by BGF.
