
BGF invests £8m in Emma Bridgewater
BGF has invested £8m in ceramics brand Emma Bridgewater.
The funding will go towards the company's expansion in the UK, as well as in international markets such as the US and China. It will also go towards increasing capacity in its Stoke-on-Trent factory.
BGF investor Joanne Smith will join the company's board along with entrepreneur Colin Porter, who will join as non-executive chair. He also holds non-executive roles at Moss Bros and Hotel Chocolat.
HSBC provided an additional £2.5m debt facility.
Company
Founded in 1984 and based in Stoke-on-Trent, Emma Bridgewater designs and manufactures hand-decorated pottery and a range of home products. Its products are sold through its website, own stores, as well as wholesale customers such as John Lewis and Next. The company generated more than £20m in revenues in 2019, with EBITDA in excess of £2m.
