
BC-backed VetPartners acquires Hyperthyroid Cat Centre
BC Partners portfolio company VetPartners has acquired Hyperthyroid Cat Centre, a centre providing treatment of feline hyperthyroidism.
Founder Andrew Bodey will continue as clinical director of the company, while all employees will be staying on.
BC acquired VetPartners from Ares Management, Credit Group and August Equity for a valuation of approximately £700m in 2018. It drew equity from its 10th-generation fund, which closed on €7bn in 2018.
Since then, the company has made several acquisitions, including Clyde Veterinary and Abbey Veterinary.

Hyperthyroid Cat Centre treats feline hyperthyroidism, a condition that causes weight loss, increased appetite, restlessness and heart disease. Its team has managed 2,000 hyperthyroid cats, using radio-iodine treatment. It operates from a single site in Wetherby and was founded in 2013.
