
Electra provides follow-on funding to Treetops Nurseries
Electra Partners has provided funding to childcare operator Treetops Nurseries to acquire a nursery school company based in the south-east of England.
The fresh capital, believed to amount to less than £10m, is the fifth investment made by the GP in 2014. The name of the nursery school business being acquired remains undisclosed.
Electra invested an undisclosed amount in Treetops' first round of funding in 2012, when the company span out from the Pine Unit Trust.
The deal will add 15 sites to Treetops' portfolio, bringing its total number of nurseries to 49. The company will also invest in improving the facilities at the new schools. According to unquote" data, Treetops has already added three sites since Electra's initial investment.
The GP's previous activity in 2014 includes an £85m injection into UK shoe manufacturer Hotter Shoes, a provision of £83m for the management buyout of Ogier Fiduciary Services, the £14m acquisition of audio mixing console maker Calrec and an additional £15m investment in Cala Group for the acquisition of luxury house builder Banner Homes.
