
MML-backed Optionis acquires Bridgewood accountancy business
Optionis Group, the employment services company backed by MML Capital, has acquired the accountancy business of Bridgewood Financial Solutions.
The division will become part of Optionis’s ClearSky brand, which provides wealth management and business services to SMEs.
MML acquired Optionis from Inflexion Private Equity in January 2014, with the vendor reporting 3.5x returns. In March it made its first acquisition under MML ownership, bolting on Poole-based accountancy firm Wheatley Pearce.
Under Inflexion's ownership between 2006 and 2013, Optionis undertook a series of acquisitions including that of ClearSky. In 2013, it also added Greater Manchester-based accountancy practice Michael Brookes & Co and Dorset-based accountancy practice Lofts & Co.
