
Insight leads €45m round for AMCS
New York-based Insight Venture Partners has led a €45m funding round for Irish recycling software company AMCS Group.
The Ireland Strategic Investment Fund (ISIF) also took part in the round, which will finance AMCS's acquisitive European expansion strategy. The company will look to consolidate its presence in the UK, Nordic region and Benelux countries, in addition to expanding into central Europe.
AMCS will also invest in new product development, following completion of the deal.
The transaction marks Insight's second investment in the Irish software sector in quick succession, having invested $75m in financial software developer Fenergo in July 2015.
Company
AMCS, which is headquartered in Limerick, provides a variety of products including analysis software, invoicing software and weighbridge control. The company was founded in 2003 and has a headcount of 300.

Euan Menzies, managing director at Insight, will take a seat on the board at AMCS. Fergal McAleavey is head of private equity at ISIF. Jimmy Martin is CEO at AMCS.
