
Episode 1 leads $3.25m series-A for User Replay
UK-based venture player Episode 1 has led a $3.25m series-A round for User Replay, a provider of customer experience management software for e-commerce businesses.
The funding round will allow the company to invest in the development of its new cloud-based software, expand its European operations and open an office in New York.
Existing backers EC1 Capital and FSE Group also took part in the round alongside angel investors.
Episode 1 was founded in 2013, when it launched Enterprise Capital Fund, a £37.5m vehicle comprising public and private money, to support early-stage technology companies. Earlier this year the VC took part in a $2m round for London-based TVbeat, which provides real-time television ratings, alongside Credo Ventures.
Episode 1 was attracted by the company's traction-based software and management team.
Previous funding
User Replay previously received a $400,000 grant from the Technology Strategy Board. The latest round brings the total amount invested in the business to $5.9m.
Company
Reading-based User Replay, a software-as-a-service provider to the e-commerce market, was founded in 2009 by CTO Phil Smith. The company's product tracks and provides detailed analysis on customer behaviour when using its clients' sites.
