
Next Wave and Saphir back Molinare's acquisition of Hackenbacker
Next Wave Partners and Saphir Capital Partners have provided portfolio company Molinare with fresh capital for the acquisition of UK audio post-production company Hackenbacker.
The companies have previously collaborated on a variety of projects, including television programs The Musketeers and The 7.39.
Next Wave Partners led an all-equity MBI for Molinare in June 2012 alongside the British Film Company, executive chairman Steve Milne and managing director Julie Parmenter. The following April, Saphir invested a similar amount in the business with capital drawn from its Luxembourg-regulated Saphir Capital Private Equity Fund.

Founded in 1985 and headquartered in London, Hackenbacker is an audio post-production company. It has previously provided services on productions including Thunderbirds Are Go, Mr Selfridge and Downton Abbey.

John Penning is managing director at Saphir. Dean MacKenzie is a partner at Next Wave. Julie Parmenter is managing director of Molinare. Nigel Heath is founder of Hackenbacker and will take a seat on the board of Molinare.
