
MML’s Optionis bolts on Wheatley Pearce
Employment services company Optionis, owned by MML Capital, has acquired accountancy firm Wheatley Pearce.
The company will become part of Optionis's ClearSky brand, which provides wealth management and business services to small and medium-sized enterprises (SME).
Wheatley Pearce's owners, Ken Butcher and Greg Bemment, will remain with the company and continue to work with its existing clients.
The deal is Optionis's first since MML's recent acquisition of the company in a secondary buyout from Inflexion Private Equity. It is expected to extend the range of services that ClearSky offers SMEs.
Under Inflexion's ownership between 2006 and 2013, Optionis undertook a series of acquisitions including that of ClearSky. In 2013, it also added Greater Manchester-based accountancy practice Michael Brookes & Co and Dorset-based accountancy practice Lofts & Co.
Optionis's turnover for the current year is forecast to be £355m.
