
Active invests in WhoCanFixMyCar
Active Private Equity has invested in WhoCanFixMyCar, a British online marketplace for car servicing and repairs.
The value of the round was undisclosed, though Active typically makes investments of £1-10m.
The fresh capital will be invested in product development in order to expand the number of services the platform offers its customers.
Former AA, RAC and Kwik-Fit chair Trevor Chinn also took part in the round.
Active has a track record of investing in the consumer and retail sectors. In May it reaped 8x on the sale of UK cycling retailer Evans Cycles to ECI Partners.
In 2014, the firm raised a £30m fund from a small group of LPs including Carphone Warehouse founder Charles Dunstone.

Founded in 2010 and headquartered in Newcastle, WhoCanFixMyCar is an online marketplace for car repairs and servicing. The platform links car owners with around 6,500 UK garages and has had 118,000 customers to date.
People
Spencer Skinner, the founding partner at Active, will take a seat on the board at WhoCanFixMyCar. Ian Griffiths and Alistair Preston are co-founders of the business.
