BGF injects £7.5m into J&B Recycling
Business Growth Fund (BGF) has invested £7.5m in J&B Recycling, a UK-based provider of waste collection, recovery and recycling services.
The fresh capital will enable J&B to expand its existing facilities and build a new recycling station in Middlesbrough for treating commercial waste.
BGF was attracted to the deal by the effect of UK and EU regulations designed to reduce the dependency on landfill for refuse disposal, with an increasing emphasis on recycling.
Following completion of the deal, the business’s non-executive director Ross Smith, former CEO of 3i-backed MDC Technology, will be appointed non-executive chairman of J&B.
The deal represents the GP’s first investment in the Teesside area of northeast England.
