Endless and Growth Capital Partners invest in Excelsior
Endless has invested in Excelsior Technologies, a UK-based packaging company, alongside existing backer Growth Capital Partners (GCP).
The capital investment will allow Excelsior to fund its international expansion strategy across Europe and the US. RBS also agreed to up the business’s debt facility in order to support its expansion plans.
Endless drew down capital from Enact, a £10m fund targeting SMEs that is structured to take advantage of the Enterprise Investment Scheme (EIS).
The deal marks the third investment for Enact, following the deals for Stirling Dynamics, a Bristol-based engineering design firm, and the West Cornwall Pasty Company, a producer of baked goods including pasties and rolls.
Previous funding
GCP supported the management buyout of Excelsior Technologies in June 2012, in a deal valued at between £20-40m.
Company
Headquartered in Deeside, north Wales, Excelsior is a packaging business specialising in food and medical packaging, including high temperature and microwaveable packaging products.
People
Chris Cormack manages the Enact fund on behalf of Endless. Nick Alexander is chief executive of Excelsior.
