
Bamboo Finance leads $3m series-B for Bboxx
Luxembourg firm Bamboo Finance has led a $3m series-B round for Bboxx, a London-based provider of solar-powered battery packs targeting developing countries.
The GP's capital was drawn from the Bamboo Energy Fund – Solar for All vehicle. Netherlands-based fund Doen Foundation, which is one of Bamboo's LPs, also took part in the round.
The capital will enable Bboxx to expand its distribution network across Africa.
Previous funding
US venture player Khosla Impact led a $2m series-A for Bboxx in November 2013, with British VC Synergy Growth providing $400,000 to the financing round.
Company
Founded in 2010 and headquartered in London, Bboxx manufactures solar-powered battery packs for use in developing countries. The business has sold rooftop domestic systems to 50,000 off-grid customers across various African nations, Indonesia and Pakistan.
