
Calculus invests in Inspiresport
Calculus Capital has acquired a significant minority stake in Inspiresport, a UK-based provider of sports tours for schools and clubs.
The funding will allow the company to expand internationally and increase the number of sports it covers.
Capital for the transaction was drawn from Calculus Capital EIS Fund 14.
The GP stated it was attracted to the company by its management team, unique product and expansion potential.
Previous funding
Finance Wales provided primary funding for Inspiresport with start-up and development capital funding totalling £50,000, according to unquote" data. The investor then backed the company again with a £500,000 follow-on debt and equity investment in 2010.

Founded in 2004 and headquartered in Cardiff, Inspiresport is a provider of sports-related tours. The company offers young people of varying abilities access to the facilities and coaches of professional football, netball, hockey, rugby and cricket clubs in Europe. Its has partnership agreements with clubs including Real Madrid, Porto, Benfica and Ajax.
