Morgan Stanley equity solutions MD departs
Gautier Martin-Regnier has left Morgan Stanley after nine years at the bank, Mergermarket reported earlier today.
Martin-Regnier was managing director in the bank’s global capital markets division covering equity solutions and equity-linked offerings in EMEA, according to his Linkedin profile.
He is set to join a client of Morgan Stanley’s in an undisclosed new role, according to the Mergermarket reported, which added that it is understood that Martin-Regnier will be taking a senior role at an unnamed sovereign wealth fund, responsible for capital markets.
Morgan Stanley declined to comment.
During his time at Morgan Stanley, Martin-Regnier headed equity solutions origination in EMEA and helped build Morgan Stanley’s share buyback franchise.
Before joining Morgan Stanley he worked on the strategic equity derivatives and equity-linked desk at Barclays for nine years. He began his career as a business analyst at Société Générale and later a financial engineer at HSBC working on quantitative model appraisals as well as derivative pricing and hedging, according to Linkedin.
According to one of the sources in the report, the role will not be filled in the short term. There is still a deep bench within the team, which was built through hiring over the past two years since the arrival of Samuel Losada from Bank of America, the source said.
The move comes after Xavier Lagache, head of EMEA equity-linked at Deutsche Bank, recently left the bank after more than a decade, with a replacement still to be appointed, as reported.
