
UK - Accel invests in GetJar
Accel Partners has invested an undisclosed sum in GetJar, a mobile application distribution and developer community, in a series-A funding round.
GetJar was founded in Lithuania in 2004 and has recently relocated to London. Since its inception it has grown substantially, with over 100 million downloads recorded and a customer base that covers every country in the world with mobile infrastructure in place. The new capital will be used to continue the organic expansion of the business.
The company's website is home to a community of over 200,000 registered developer and beta-tester accounts covering all industry groups, providing an interactive environment which gives users an active role in product development.
