BELGIUM - Clear2Pay raises additional EUR 2m from Iris Capital
Clear2Pay,a Belgian software vendor of next generation payment solutions for financial institutions, has received a EUR 2m capital increase from Iris Capital. In addition, the telco and media venture capitalist has purchased existing equity for the value of EUR 1m in the company, bringing its investment to a total of EUR 3m.
The company first received funding in 2001 when Big Bang Ventures contributed half the equity in a EUR 1.8m round, the management making up the balance. A second round occurred in 2003, with EUR 5.35m being provided by Big Bang Ventures, Omega Pharma and private investor Christian Dumolin, chairman of Trust Capital. A EUR 1.5m third round completed later on that year from a consortium including Intel Capital, Big Bang Ventures, Koceram, Omega Pharma and the company's management. In December 2004, a fourth round of financing saw the company secure EUR 6.1m from Quest for Growth, Technology Venture Partners, Koceram and the management and in July this year, Clear2Pay received EUR 15.7m from AGF Private Equity, GIMV, Trustcapital management, Big Bang Ventures and management.
