Vendis-backed Noppies buys Alvi
Vendis Capital's Dutch portfolio company Noppies has acquired German baby sleeping products manufacturer Alvi.
Noppies expands its geographical reach with the acquisition, which is also the first German investment from Vendis's current fund.
The GP drew capital from its €180m buyout fund, Vendis Capital II, to support the transaction. The management team also took an equity position, and Rabobank arranged extra debt for the bolt-on, having provided the financing for the original buyout.
The group more than doubles in size through the acquisition and now employs 300 people, Unquote understands. Vendis acquired maternity wear and baby fashion brand Noppies in June 2016.
Company
Founded in 1961 by Alfred Viehhofer, Alvi is a baby sleeping product manufacturer headquartered in Höxter. Its products include sleeping bags, mattresses, duvets, textiles and accessories. It employs approximately 200 people at its German headquarters and its manufacturing site in Poland.
