Karma, Intel, Practica in $2.3m funding round for CGTrader
Karma Ventures has led a $2.3m funding round for CGTrader, an online market place for graphical 3D models.
Previous investors Intel Capital and Practica Capital also participated in the round. The Lithuania-based firm will use the funding to develop its services, as well as establish a presence in the US, the largest market for 3D models.
The CGTrader library has around 600,000 assets available, which speeds up 3D content creation. Karma believes the importance of 3D content will grow significantly in the coming years.
Previous funding
Intel Capital and previous backer Practica Capital invested an undisclosed amount in 2014.
Practica first invested in CGTrader in 2012, supplying the company with €180,000 in capital via its €6m Practica Seed Capital fund.
Company
Vilnius-headquartered CGTrader was founded in 2011. The company operates an online marketplace for computer graphics and 3D printing, designed to allow 3D artists to sell and share their designs. It has around 25 staff.
