
Tengelmann in €8m series-A for Idagio
Tengelmann Ventures has led an €8m series-A funding round for classical music streaming service Idagio.
Early-stage investor B-to-V Partners increased its financial commitment alongside new stakeholders, including some business angels.
Idagio said the capital will allow the company to strengthen its commitment to creating the world's largest classical music catalogue.
Company
Idagio is a Berlin-based specialised streaming service for classical music. It launched in 2015 at the Salzburg festival and currently has a catalogue of more than 140,000 recordings; the company states it is adding new recordings at a rate of 5,000 per week.
The service is available as an iOS and Android application, as well as through idagio.com. The company has users in 70 countries and employs 46 people.
