Creandum in €10m round for Billie
Creandum has led a €10m series-A funding round for Berlin-based online factoring company Billie just 10 months after its seed round.
Rocket Internet, Speedinvest, Avala Capital and Picus Capital backed the company in February 2017 and have all reinvested in the latest financing round.
Billie has brought the fundraising technique of factoring online by allowing small businesses to raise capital by selling their accounts receivable via its online platform.
In August, Billie announced a strategic partnership with payment technology company Wirecard.
Previous funding
Rocket Internet, Speedinvest, Avala and Picus invested €3.5m in Billie's seed round in February 2017.
Company
Founded in 2016, Billie provides an online factoring service to small businesses in Germany. It allows companies to create a funding framework of up to €200,000 a month via a traditional factoring contract but without a long-term commitment. The German factoring association said that its members' sales rose by 3.77% in 2016 to €216.8bn.
