
Lakestar et al. back €56.6m series-B for SolarisBank
A consortium including Swiss VC firm Lakestar has invested in a €56.6m series-B funding round for Berlin-based SolarisBank.
Bertelsmann subsidiary Arvato Financial Solutions and Japan's SBI Group reinvested in the company. New investors BBVA, Visa and ABN Amro's Digital Impact Fund also took part in the round.
Lakestar is currently investing from its €350m second fund, which held a final close on €350m in August 2015.
SolarisBank will use the fresh capital for product development and international expansion. The bank said in a statement that all its investors have an international profile, which will benefit its future development.
Previous funding
Finleap and Yabeo led a seed €12.1m seed round for SolarisBank in March 2016.
Arvato Financial Solutions partnered with SBI Group to provide a €26.3m series-A round for the bank in March 2017. Seed investors also took part in the round.

Founded in 2016 and headquartered in Berlin, SolarisBank is a licensed banking platform that allows companies to offer their own financial products. The company has brought 60 clients on board to date including Smava, AutoScout24, Fashioncheque and various fintechs. It employs 130 people.
