
ECapital, G+D invest €2-9m in Brighter AI Technologies
ECapital and Giesecke+Devrient Ventures (G+D Ventures) have invested a €2-9m amount in Brighter AI Technologies.
The fresh capital will be used to accelerate product development and expand the headcount in its technical and sales teams.
G+D Ventures is the venture capital arm of the international security specialist Giesecke+Devrient, which plans to collaborate with the company to address new markets. These projects are already progressing, according to a statement.
Previous funding
In 2017, the company received a convertible note from Hella Ventures.
It then launched an angel round in 2018, in which Thorsten Grenz participated. That year, the company also received a €500,000 grant from IBB Beteiligungsgesellschaft.

Founded in 2017, Brighter AI is focused on optimising visual technology with artificial intelligence. Based in Berlin, it has developed a process that anonymises personal traits such as faces, but preserves camera data for analytics and machine learning approaches. It employs 12 people, according to LinkedIn.
