
HTGF and MBG-SH reinvest in gestigon
High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF) has committed to Lübeck-based gestigon’s series-A funding round, alongside Mittelständische Beteiligungsgesellschaft Schleswig-Holstein (MBG-SH).
One of the founding shareholders and three business angels also committed to the round. The fresh capital has been earmarked to accelerate the company's international expansion throughout Europe and the US, and to establish a presence in Asia.
HTGF stated the company had shown significant sales growth in 2013 and 2014.
Previous funding
HTGF and MBG-SH committed approximately €500,000 in seed funding to the company in December 2012.
Company
Founded in 2011 as a spinout from the University of Lübeck's Institute for Neuro- and Bio-informatics, gestigon develops gesture control software. Its products provide skeleton tracking and gesture control based on 3D depth data, intended for the consumer, electronics and automotive markets. It has a low run time and requires minimal processing requirements.
The company has 22 employees and a business development office in Sunnyvale.
